New PICL one-price “Season Pass” announced for 2019! Read the full FAQs
To support its ongoing and explosive year-over-year growth, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL) has announced a greatly simplified fee structure for student-athletes participating in the league’s 2019 fall season. The new fee structure will provide a predictable funding model to support a robust program that has grown to include quality coaching at the local level, special “Adventure” programming, state-wide Teen Trail Corps trail stewardship activities, summer camps, coaching clinics, team outreach, competitive events, and much more to come, throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
This year PICL is moving to a simple, one-price “PICL Season Pass” registration that covers all your regular-season PICL activities! This single, flat fee saves you up to $48 over total costs compared to previous years, and covers NICA national registration, PICL league registration, insurance coverage for team practices and PICL events, Adventure Overnight, all races (including parking!), race-plates and timing at races, adventure rides on event weekends, Teen Trail Corps activities, and more. Individual teams may also have a separate team registration fee.
The “Early Bird” cost for the PICL Season Pass is $275 per athlete if paid by May 31. After May 31, the cost increases to $300 per athlete. If possible, please consider selecting the “pay by check” option to save PICL the $10 online processing fee. Family discounts are available for those registering more than one athlete from the same family. Payment by check is required to receive the family discount. For more details see the FAQ.
Although special PICL summer camps (GRiT, TTC, etc.) are not included in the Season Pass and will continue to require separate registration fees, we have reduced the prices for these camps significantly under the new fee structure — up to $100 less expensive than in previous years! This new registration structure brings PICL in-line with many other NICA state leagues and reflects the fact that the NICA experience is about so much more than a few races. This flat-fee will decrease administrative overhead burden; simplify event weekends for riders, coaches, and families; and allow PICL to continue to develop a robust, holistic mountain biking experience for racers and non-racers alike.
