We inspire youth to lead healthy lifestyles, build strong communities, and engage in leadership and trail stewardship through mountain biking.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL - pronounced “pickle”) is a youth development organization welcoming students in grades 6 - 12 from across the state.

As part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), we are one of 30+ leagues across the country helping to get #morekidsonbikes.

What We Offer

COMPETITION helps young people discover what they’re capable of physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through Competition, students build confidence, resilience, and determination while learning how to challenge themselves and support others.

TEEN TRAIL CORPS helps students understand the importance of trail stewardship through hands-on community service. By maintaining and improving local trails, students learn to care for the places they ride while making their communities healthier and better places to live and play.

ADVENTURE gives students opportunities to challenge themselves and explore the outdoors through fun, engaging on- and off-the-bike experiences. Along the way, they develop teamwork, responsibility, and a deeper appreciation for the people and places that make outdoor experiences possible.

GIRLS RIDING TOGETHER creates supportive spaces where girls and women can build confidence, form lasting friendships, and feel a true sense of belonging in mountain biking. Through intentional coaching and community, participants develop lifelong connections to riding and the outdoors.

“Our daughter is doing things she never knew she was capable of. I am so incredibly grateful that PICL exists and has given her an opportunity to participate in a healthy, life-long activity.”
