TEEN TRAIL CORPS

Trail Work. Advocacy. Partnership.

Student-athletes and their teams learn the value of community service and make their communities better places to live and play by maintaining local trails.

When we give back to trails we become more connected to the places we ride, we contribute amazing things to our communities in health, wellness, and economic benefits, and we grow as people through our service. Teen Trail Corps (TTC) Captains are PICL student-athletes who design and spearhead trail-related projects in their communities.

PICL’s partnership with the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), through a grant from the Bureau of Recreation and Conservation Fund, supports teams and team development. This partnership exists because PICL digs in!

Teen Trail Corps Opportunities

Trail work and mountain biking go hand in hand. We build strength as we work the trails, mind as we learn about construction, and character as we engage with others across our community. Working something with our hands and tools and then hopping on our bike to ride that thing is a pretty fantastic feeling, too.

Every PICL student-athlete can become a TTC Captain by using their unique skills and interest to complete a trail-related project. The project might directly contribute to local trails, but it may also support a local trail system or organization in their efforts such as fundraising, social media, networking, and more.

TTC gives back to you, too, through awards. PICL celebrates those among us who really dig in by awarding leaders jerseys in each grade for our most prolific trail stewards. You don’t have to race to be in the running for these. Check out the leaderboard below.

TTC engagement also awards bonus points in the PICL race series. See the PA Handbook for more information and rules regarding TTC bonus points.
