RYAN OELKERS joined the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL) staff in 2021 as Director of Outreach and Communications. A fourth-generation professional road and track cyclist, Ryan brings deep experience in youth cycling and community-based program development.
In 2007, he helped launch the Cadence Cycling Foundation (now the Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling Program), a Philadelphia youth-development organization focused on creating opportunities through cycling. Since its founding, more than 2,500 youth from underserved Philadelphia communities have participated in BCYC programs.
Ryan has been recognized with the Pennsylvania Afterschool Champions Award, was a finalist for Philadelphia Magazine’s “Health Hero Award,” and completed Leadership Philadelphia’s Core Program. Before joining PICL, he worked as a Project Developer for g4 Productions, an event planning and production company specializing in participatory sporting events. He also serves on the Board of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
Ryan is a graduate of Kutztown University and lives in Wynnewood, PA with his wife, Erin, and their four children.
